Construction
Solar flex cables, often referred to as H1Z2Z2-K or PV (photovoltaic) wire, are specifically engineered with a multi-layer construction designed to withstand extreme outdoor conditions, UV radiation, high temperatures, and moisture over a 25-year+ lifespan. Unlike standard electrical wires, they feature double-layer insulation/sheathing, usually utilizing cross-linked materials.
Application
Solar flex cable is a specialized, flexible, and UV-resistant cable used to connect solar panels (photovoltaic modules) to inverters, charge controllers, and batteries in residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar systems. It is designed for both indoor and outdoor, above-ground or direct-burial, and, in specific cases, floating solar installations to ensure durable, safe energy transmission.
